VAN DON HERITAGE ROAD PART 1 - CAN ONE ROAD CREATE VIETNAM’S NEXT HA LONG BAY?

With its lush green forests, beautiful mountains, and crystal clear waters, Van Don should be one of the world’s global tourist havens.

But it isn’t. yet.

At 35,000 square kilometres, Van Don’s existing infrastructure is lacking, and the settlements are scattered, preventing it from realizing its full potential as a tourist hotspot.

With this enormity in mind, NDA planned the Van Don Heritage Road that physically connects the vast mountains and coastline, and brings together nature, activities, history, and cultural resources into a fully rounded and integrated experience.

By looping all parts of Van Don together, it makes investing and building in the region much more attractive. Thus the ambitious plans for Van Don to play host to a myriad of visitor sites, including a convention centre, hotels, restaurants, golf courses, restaurants, and resorts, and the landside Heritage Road will be the central artery that connects them together.

The waterway Heritage Road reveals up close the spectacular beauty of the iconic karst islands that dot the waters, and visitors can even alight on the islands and explore the mysterious caves onsite.

The Van Don Heritage Road is so special because it unites everything both physically and symbolically. That means people, products, and services can easily get from one place to another. And it increases the chance of success of each individual business there, as they can rely on greater inflows of traffic to and from each other.

The Heritage Road also means visitors can enjoy mountains, sea, and culture, all in the same stay, even on the same day.

In this rare conjunction of mountain and sea, we find a seldom seen opportunity to weave manmade design into nature to create an integrated tourist system that creates a whole more powerful than the sum of its parts.
