NDA brings the new Sanya Maritime Museum to life with a compelling integrated museum experience, The Coral Loop, a powerful theme that expresses the institution's mission to both educate the public and to protect the nearby coral reef.

This vast complex, larger than 1000 Ha, will become a new landmark not only for its unique location, but also for its various facilities: numerous outdoor and indoor activity centers, a seven star hotel, a natural resort park, a golf course and much more.

This competition proposal aims to create a built metaphor for a culture defined by its unique ability to constantly merge and integrate diverse, heterogenous and even antagonistic influences in an effervescent and innovative melting pot.

Challenging the traditional distribution scheme of media centers, NDA's solution proposes a concentric functional disposition that allows for all the complex, contrasting programs to be linked under one same roof and around one central court.

Located on one of the most important axes of the city, between the downtown and the new economic & technological development zone of Dalian, NDA aims to create a landmark in Dalian, a musical fountain, but also a leisure and entertainment center for the local citizens and tourists.
